The Problem
We know that internal rubber mixers do a great job of combining ingredients at the start of the mixing process, but their ultimate dispersion and distribution performance is limited. This means multiple passes with cooling stages in between and very inefficient processes. For temperature-sensitive and delicate ingredients, such as curatives and nanomaterials, these problems can limit compound and process performance.
The Solution
A continuous mixing system that takes first-pass compound from an internal batch mixer and provides intensive, temperature-controlled mixing to enhance the dispersion and distribution of ingredients and enables the addition of temperature-sensitive materials whilst operating at cool temperatures, typically 60ºC to 80ºC.
